Dr. Octavio R. Costa

His books, Antonio Maceo: The Hero (1947) and Juan Gualberto Gómez: A Life Without Shadow (1949), won biographical competitions organized by the Cuban Academy of History. In 1950, he also wrote Manuel Sanguily: History of a Citizen. All of these books, along with Men and Destinies, were republished while he was in exile. In 1949, he was inducted into the Cuban Academy of History.
