Dr. Alejandro de Quesada - Thirst Quencher

The doctor who helped launch Gatorade and the start of a multi-billion dollar sports drink industry in the United States, is a Cuban exile. As a kidney disease doctor in Cuba, Dr. Quesada came to the United States with $5 in his pocket. He is one of the four doctors who came together at the University of Florida in 1965 to invent Gatorade.



Dr. Alejandro de Quesada had $5 in his pocket when he left Cuba in 1959.
